EAST PEORIA Ill -- Dozens of vendors from across the Midwest parked their trains at Illinois Central College.
Hundreds of model train collectors and fans took part in the annual Peoria Train Fair.
"I'd like to think that every generation would be influenced to take this up. But it's hard to say what people are going to do," said River City Railroad Club President, Don MacGregor.
Many brought their children for the first time.
"We have a little wooden train at home but it doesn't go on it's own like this. So he's really loving this," said local grandmother, Deanna Detar.
Others came as vendors selling their large collection of trains.
"I'm glad to see it's not just video games these days and computers because back when I was a kid we played with something not just a video," said vendor, Gerald Franzen.
The Train Fair ran from 10 am to 3 pm.
All of the proceeds will support area railroad clubs
