Chlo? Grace Moretz Opens Up About Her Mom?s Cancer Diagnosis In The New Issue Of ?InStyle? Magazine UK

'Your parents aren?t these godly figures... They?re humans.'

Teen actress Chlo? Grace Moretz has a lot on her plate, considering she just celebrated her Sweet 16 this year. She?s getting ready to take on a huge role as the lead in the Carrie remake, and (although not all of her co-stars were pleased with the final result) the Kick-Ass 2 movie has wrapped and will hit theatres soon. I?ve loved Chlo??s work for some time now, and I love when she gets a photo shoot (like the one she did for Love magazine). So I was excited to see that she was the cover girl for the August issue of In Style magazine UK, but also saddened to learn that her mother had been diagnosed with cancer. She talks about this and other issues in her interview. Click inside for more.

And here are a few excerpts from the interview:

On the prospect of falling in love one day: ?You think, ?Who?s out to deceive me?? That?s hard. Especially growing up and liking guys and, maybe, ?Do you want to be in a relationship? Is this person trying to be in my life because I?m famous?? You can?t just like someone. They might be using you. I talk to Julianne [Moore, her co-star in 'Carrie'] about it and she says, ?Look, just be careful. Trust your judgement but don?t get in too deep sometimes.? Because, you know, when you?re young, you fall in love and don?t know it?s happening.?

On having high-powered meetings in Hollywood: ?What have I got to be intimidated about? I talk to Donna [Langley, co-chair of Universal Pictures] or someone like that, and they?re like, ?We?d love to do stuff with you. I?ll tell you our slate, tell us what you?re interested in.? ?Sometimes they?ll just be, ?It?s so weird, you are 16 years old. You don?t talk like my kid does.? And I?m like, ?Trust me, when I?m with friends I might.??

On her mum and dad?s break up, and her mum?s cancer diagnosis: ?It made me realise, along with everything that happened with my dad, that your parents aren?t these godly figures. They?re not chosen by the heavens. They?re humans. Their bodies can fail and they can die at any moment. They make mistakes. They cry. They fight. It definitely, from a young age, put everything into perspective for me.?

Based on the excerpt, I don?t know much about the diagnosis, and whether or not Chlo??s mom is currently undergoing treatment. Perhaps the full interview will reveal more. Either way, that?s quite a heavy load for a young girl. But Chlo? has always struck me as one of a few young actresses (? la Emma Watson) with a good, solid, mature head on their shoulders. Here?s hoping she and her family stand by each other and that she and her mother have the support they need.

As far as the photo shoot goes, I really like the styling here. Chlo? looks amazing? with that gorgeous face of hers? but I like that they kept the look young and fun. You can read more on her cover story HERE. Oh, I?m also loving that Christian Dior crochet dress she?s rocking on the cover. Fab!
